- Is Franklin open on holidays?
No, Franklin is closed on all major holidays observed by Franklin. To see a list of holidays we observe, please click on

- Does Franklin accept walk-ins?
Yes, all walk-ins are welcome at anytime with exception to dental patients and rheumatology patients. For more information, see

- Can I be seen without identification?
Proper ID is required. However, some exceptions may apply. Please contact a manager if you have concerns.
- What ID is acceptable?
Acceptable forms of identification include a valid drivers' license, military, school and an employee badge.
- What do I need to bring when I visit the doctor?
New patients, without insurance, should bring their proof of income, the minimum service fee, and all medications (including prescriptions and non-prescriptions, herbs, vitamins, etc).
Insured patients should bring their insurance card, co-payment, and all medications (including prescriptions and non-prescriptions, herbs, vitamins, etc).
- Can I have my medical records?
Yes, you may obtain a copy of your medical records with proper ID for a minimal fee.
- I am a recently released inmate, can I still be seen?
Yes, and they may be eligible for our homeless program.

- What payment methods does Franklin accept?
Franklin accepts Visa and MasterCard only, personal checks, and all debit cards. On returned checks there is an additional fee of $30.
- What payment arrangements are available?
At Franklin, you can pay by phone, mail, or in person at any of our convenient locations. For large bills, a payment plan can be arranged with our Billing department.
- Can I be seen without insurance?
Yes, all patients can be seen provided they have proper ID, proof of income, and a minimum co-payment of $25 for medical services. The minimum fee for dental services is $30.
- Do I need proof of income if I have insurance?
Medicare is the only insurance that requires proof of income if the patient would like to qualify to receive a sliding scale fee. Medicaid patients are only required to provide proof of income when they are seeking Family Planning services.
- What insurances does Franklin accept?
Franklin accepts all insurances; however, in the event that your insurance will not cover the full cost of Franklin services, you will be responsible for any unpaid amount.
- How much is my insurance co-payment?
Your co-payment will depend upon your insurance plan. For Medicare there is no co-payment. However, there is a $1 co-payment for Medicaid patients.

- Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes, we encourage our dental patients to make appointments to see the dentist. But unlike our other Franklin services, dental has designated walk-in times. If you need to see the doctor immediately, our walk-in times are at 7:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. If you have questions, feel free to call us at anytime.
- What is the youngest age you will see a patient?
Franklin will treat children as young as 2 years and up.
- Can you see patients on Saturday?
No. However, we are open at our Medical Mall from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
- Does Dental have a set fee for all services?
Rates vary and are based on each patient's monthly income. Some patients qualify for 100% discount based on our sliding scale. Patients who qualify will pay a minimum of $30 per visit.
- How often should I get my teeth examined and cleaned?
All patients should get their teeth examined and cleaned every 6 months.
- Can I get an exam and cleaning on the same day?
Yes. Although, these procedures are done by two different people--the dentist and the dental hygienist--they can be done on the same day.
- Do you pull wisdom teeth?
Yes, however, each patient is different. Some wisdom teeth must be surgically removed. Thus we will not be able to tell you over the phone. You will need to come in for an examination. Patients needing surgery will be referred to a specialist.
- Do I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled?
Not all patients need to have their wisdom teeth pulled. If you come in for an examination, we can better assess your needs.
- Does Franklin Dental provide bleaching (or whitening)?
Franklin does offer bleaching or whitening, but only at our Loxley Dental Center location currently.
- Does Franklin provide orthodontic procedures?
No, we do not place braces, remove, or tighten them.
- Does Franklin provide prosthodontic procedures?
Yes. Franklin provides removable partials and dentures. These services are only provided at our Medical Mall location at this time.
- Does Franklin Dental clean teeth with braces?
Yes, we offer dental cleaning.
- Does Dental provide educational seminars?
Yes, we offer educational seminars at schools, health fairs, nursing homes, the Boys and Girls Club, day cares, churches and other institutions.

- How do I qualify for the program?
Anyone can apply at anytime. We offer a walk-in program, and we also take referrals. If an individual does not qualify, we will help him find treatment that meets his needs.
- How much does it cost?
We charge 5 percent of your monthly income. So if you receive $100 per month you will be required to pay $5. We do require proof of income.
- How long does the program last?
The program typically lasts a year but progress will depend on each individual's dedication to the program. Some have completed the program in as little as 6 months.
- Do you provide education for the public?
Our Prevention Specialist goes out into the community and educates the public, including schools, churches, companies, civic organization and anyone or group who may be in need of information. There is no charge for such speaking engagements.
- Is there an age limit for treatment?
Anyone can apply at any age.

- What are the eligibility requirements?
To receive healthcare and social services provided by H. E. Savage Healthcare for the Homeless, individuals must meet the definition of homelessness as defined by the Department of Human Services, Section 330 (H) Grant Program.
According to that definition anyone who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate night-time residence qualifies; as well as anyone residing temporarily (less than a year) in a supervised publicly or privately operated facility or shelter; anyone doubling up with other families; individuals or families who live in a public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as, a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings, such as, sleeping in cars, abandoned buildings, or under bridges also qualifies.
- Does Franklin provide transportation through its homeless program?
Franklin will provide transportation to medical services, mental health services, substance abuse services and referral agencies.
- What other assistance does the homeless program provide?
Franklin's H.E Savage Healthcare for the Homeless provides assistance with food, medications, financial assistance, housing, employment services, HIV counseling, mental health and substance abuse assessments, treatments and referrals for homeless patients.
- Does H. E. Savage Healthcare for the Homeless accept donations?
Yes, donations help purchase medication, pay for referrals to specialty clinics, glasses, dentures, etc. Unless we have donates these services cannot be provided.

- What type of nutritional counseling is offered?
Nutritional counseling is available for adults and children with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, overweight or obesity, pregnancy, anemia, acid reflux, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and other dietary related disorders.
- What should I expect at the consultation?
The nutritionist will assess a typical day's intake and make recommendations if changes are needed. A meal plan will be given that is customized for each individual taking into consideration his/her schedule, food preferences, and more.
- How much does nutrition counseling cost?
The fee is based on your income. Medicare and some other insurances sometimes pay for certain types of nutritional counseling.
- How do I make an appointment?
Your Franklin provider must refer you. You will be contacted and an appointment will be scheduled at that time.
- Are nutritional services only offered at the Medical Mall?
No. You may see the nutritionist at all Franklin Primary Health Center locations with exception exception centers in Baldwin and Choctaw Counties.

- How much is an eye exam?
For self-paying patients, or patients without insurance, Franklin uses a sliding fee scale with a minimum requirement of $25 per visit.
- How old does my child have to be to see the optometrist?
At the Medical Mall, we see children starting at infancy as early as a few months. At our other locations, children must be at least 3 years old.
- How often should I get a check up?
Children are seen yearly. Adults should be seen every 2 years. Glaucoma and diabetic patients should get their eyes checked annually. Contact lens patients are seen yearly also.
- Do you offer clear and colored contacts and what kinds do you provide?
Yes, we provide both clear and colored contact lenses. We offer Sphere, Torics and Multifocals. We do not provide colored multifocals and toric colored lenses are limited.
- Do you offer specials?
We do not offer discounts such as 2-for-1 specials. However, we do offer value pack plans, which include frames and single vision lenses starting at $50.00 and $65.00 for bifocals. However, the final prices depend on prescription.
- Do you offer warranties?
General warranties on frames are valid for one year. If the frames are damaged, patients must bring the complete frame to make an exchange.
- What glue can I use to repair my glasses?
Never use glue on glasses. They cannot be repaired, and it voids any available exchange warranties.
- Do you repair glasses?
We do general repairs; however, patients must bring the complete frame.
- Does Franklin Vision Center repair glasses from other companies?
No. We only repair glasses that we provide to patients.
